EMT:
Municipal Bus
|
Formed
by 179 lines, including the university
lines, night-bus lines, lines to the zoo and
special Barajas Airport line.
The
operating timetable varies according to each
line, generally running between 6:00 h in
the morning and 23:00 h at night. A
night service operates during the early
morning, known as the Búho (owl), and is
composed of 20 lines.
Tickets can
be obtained from the driver and come in 2
types: Single trip tickets, costing
0.95 € and Metrobús 10 trip tickets,
costing 5.20 €.

Metro
lines
|
Network
for 2002 is formed by 11 lines and the Ópera-Principe
Pio branch line. It is 171 km long,
corresponding to 158 stations.
The
operating timetable through out the year is
from 6:00 h in the morning to 1:30 h at
night. There are a series of stations
with special timetables.
Tickets can
be obtained at station entrances and come in
2 types: Single trip tickets, costing
0.95 € and Metrobús 10 trip tickets,
costing 5.20 €.

Trains

Network
has 31 stations in the Madrid municipality,
14 of which correspond with the Metro.
The
operating timetable varies, train services
starting between 5:00 h and 6:00 h in the
morning and finishes between 24:00 h and
1:00 h at night.
There are
several types of tickets: single, a train
pass for ten trips and monthly suburban
railway pass, whose fares depend on the
number of fare zones crossed.

Ride Ticket: Metrobús - The Metrobús 10
trip ticket, valid for Metro and urban
buses, is a transport pass which can be used
on all Metro de Madrid and EMT lines (except
the Colón-Airport line) and can be obtained
at ticket offices and automatic ticket
machines on the Metro network, EMT booths,
Madrid municipal tobacco shops and kiosks in
the municipality of Madrid.
The trip is
automatically validated by EMT cancelling
machines and Metro turnstiles and finally
annulled automatically when it is inserted
for a 10th time in the bus cancelling
machines or Metro turnstiles.

Travel
Passes give you the right to unlimited
travel on all types of public transport.
They consist of a personalized, permanent
Travel Card with photo, information and the
pass number, and an annual or monthly
ticket.
Three
types of monthly passes exist:

Normal Pass: Ages 21 to 64.

Young Person's Pass: valid until June of
the year when owner is 21.
-
Elderly Person's Pass: Valid from 65
onwards.
To
obtain a Normal Pass, it is necessary to
go to any tobacco shop with a photo and ID
and fill out the application form, and you
will immediately be issued a Travel Pass
Card.
In
the case of young or elderly person's
passes it is necessary to provide the
relevant documentation. The Card can
be obtained in a period of 10 days if you
do not specify previously that you wish to
receive it by mail.
